Chapter 8

The Lord provides truth, priesthood authority, ordinances, and organization through His prophets.

Alma 12:27-30: What i got from this scripture is that prophets are a wonderful gift from the lord. Part of his plan was that we were to know all about the plan from the very beginning. But there was no way for us to know about the plan because we lost all knowledge of it when the vail was placed over our minds. So he sent down angels to tell us this plan so that we may live our lives according and make it back to live with our heveanly father. And with this in mind it shows how vitally important the prophet is not only to the Plan of Salvation but also to how we should conduct ourselves throughout our lives.

Article of Faith #6: From the sixth article of faith i got the impression that our church was setup upon a basis of another kind of organization. What i mean is that i think that our church was based upon another church that was exactly the same but was before ours came into existance. So for this to be true than that would mean that our church foundation and structure would have to be based upon the foundation and structure of heaven.

Throughout history there has been a recurring pattern of apostasy and restoration.

Amos 8:11-12: From this scripture i had the impression that this cycle is much needed. For the reason that many times people distort things and that is how people fall away from the church they hear a distorted truth and believe that over what they have been taught. So for this cycle the prophet leaves the people because they will not listen to him anymore and that puts his life in danger. Later at the right moment another prophet of the church returns to the city and brings it unto repentence and thus restarts the cycle.

2 Nephi 25:17: What i got from this scripture was that there will be a great gathering of the church and all his fallen children will be gathered again at the second coming. So for me it kind of shows me that we as a people are kind of returning to the apaostasy state in that there is great corruption throught this world and many people are falling away from the fold and being corrupted by the world.

The rejection of the Savior, His teachings, and priesthood authority resulted in the Apostasy of the New Testiment Church.

2 Matthew 24:24: What i got from this scripture is that there will be a great corruption of this world before the second coming of the lord. It says that there will be great temptations and many other things that will lead us astray and cause us to fall victim to another apostasy.

2 Timothy 1:15: What i got from this scripture is that there is a great many people that have already fallen to this horrible apostasy. they have been fallen for a long long time and it says that they have been fallen since the Apostasy of the Early Christian Churchs.

The European Reformation helped perpare the way for the final Restoration.

Joel 2:28-29: What i got from this is that the church was reformed and prepared for everyone of this last dispensation. This church wasn't just for a certain people but for all who believe and have come to know of the truthfullness of this gospel and of this church.
